Mom works full time but doesn’t make enough to have an apartment on her own due to an unforeseen emergency, so she is waiting. Living in an overflow with her children is her only choice while she waits for her housing voucher. There are women and children sleeping in their cars or other unsafe places tonight. Our five bedrooms are full. We have five administrative offices in front of the safehouse that can be converted to bedrooms.

This story is not uncommon, many families endure this struggle daily because Bridges is not a part of the Housing and Urban Development (HUD) program that allows families to stay here until their voucher is ready.
