      When a mother arrives at Bridges, we assist her in applying for CCA (Child Care Assistance), a Texas benefit that can take four to six weeks to process, depending on availability and the current wait list. The state recommends and pays for Early Head Start programs, which have limited availability in the southern sector.

    • Double Capacity (Let’s Make Room)

      Mom works full time but doesn’t make enough to have an apartment on her own due to an unforeseen emergency, so she is waiting. Living in an overflow with her children is her only choice while she waits for her housing voucher. There are women and children sleeping in their cars or other unsafe places tonight. Our five bedrooms are full. We have five administrative offices in front of the safehouse that can be converted to bedrooms.

    • Life After Bridges

      Breanna successfully completed the Bridges program and has moved into her own apartment. While she has come a long way and are proud of her, the road ahead is financially difficult. We were able to provide dishes, towels and silverware but she still needs other items to make her apartment a home.
