More than 90% of homeless mothers reported experiencing physical and/or sexual abuse (nlchp.org).

Mothers report feeling detached and have difficulty parenting.

Physical abuse can cause negative emotional effects including anger, fear, suffering from lowered self-esteem, depression, anxiety, shame and guilt. Bridges offers a safe, non-judgement environment where mothers find help in parenting support groups and healing through trauma informed therapy.

Bridges uses “A Long Journey Home,” produced by the National Center on Family Homelessness, as the guide for program activities including: Housing, Healthcare, Trauma Informed Clinical Interventions, Case Management, Financial Education, and Career Coaching. This support during a housing crisis is urgent!
